Maritiman ashore
When a visit on board isn’t possible, we come to you. Our educator brings materials, stories and examples from Maritiman’s ships and turns them into a lesson that sparks curiosity, encourages discussion and connects directly to the Swedish curriculum.
It becomes an experience-based lesson – without your class ever leaving school.
Our classroom lessons
Water Experiments (ages 6–9)
Hands-on science – in your own classroom.
Students conduct simple experiments to explore the properties of water and practise asking questions, forming hypotheses, observing results and drawing conclusions. The lesson ends with a short lab report.
Curriculum connection: Science, ages 6–9. Simple field studies and experiments.
Marine Litter (ages 10–12)
How our choices affect the ocean.
We explore decomposition, chemicals, recycling and everyday habits. Students gain a concrete understanding of how litter ends up in the sea – and what they can do to make a difference.
Curriculum connection: Chemistry, ages 10–12. Environmental impact and recycling.
Preparing for Peace (ages 10–12)
Discussions without right or wrong answers.
Through ethical dilemmas, students practise reasoning, listening and recognising that the same question can be viewed from many perspectives. The focus is on reflection and values.
Curriculum connection: Religious Education, ages 10–12. Moral questions and ethical concepts.
Is a Third World War Around the Corner? (ages 13–15)
Society, history and security policy – in your classroom.
We discuss parallels between past and present, helping students identify patterns, weigh arguments and understand different societal perspectives.
Curriculum connection: Social Studies, ages 13–15. Reasoning, perspectives and connections.
